Sarah Bolden aka Embellish the Truth is a fiber artist that specializes in upcycling, remixing and embellishing clothing and accessories. Giving vintage and used clothing a new life by re-imagining and repurposing, dismembering and remembering, then adding unique embellishments. Creating pieces that provoke something in both the one who wears it, as well as those who see it. Drawing inspiration from nature, geology, science fiction, and the absurd. Finding meaning in the beauty and humor of the city around us. Born out of and existing because of Seattle's local music and dance community. During the summer you will find Sarah live sewing on a solar-powered 1949 sewing machine at Arts and Music festivals, collaborating with festival goers in the moment. The booth is an experience, a myriad of ready-to-wear pieces, blank pieces to re-imagine, as well as everything needed for people to embellish their favorite pieces of clothing on the spot. Helping others speak their own truths through their clothing. These pieces capture a rare moment of artistic collaboration with a stranger, creating an organic, living, fashion show that emerges throughout the festival.
