HistoryLink (HistoryLink.org) is a free, nonprofit online encyclopedia dedicated to the history of Washington state. Launched in 1999, it was the first original encyclopedia of state history created specifically for the internet. It serves as a massive digital repository, currently hosting over 8,500 entries that cover everything from biographies and landmark events to urban infrastructure and Indigenous histories. Beyond text, HistoryLink produces tours, books, curriculum, and podcasts, and strives to pioneer innovative approaches to historical research, education, and publishing.
