High Fashion High

High Fashion High is a teen runway program that empowers high school students to explore and express their creativity through fashion design, modeling, makeup artistry, and related disciplines. Founded to provide young artists with a platform for self-expression, High Fashion High is now in its fourth year at Bumbershoot, Seattle’s long-running arts and music festival. Our runway theme is dreams which allows for our designers to tap in with their inner whimsy. This entails soft, playful, and ethereal imagery which can be expressed through cotton candy skies, fairies, the moon and the stars. This theme can also be interpreted through nightmares as in a more chaotic and gothic aesthetic. Our inspiration behind this concept is the ability for dreams to foster peoples emotions, creativity, and memory which can allow an individual to leave the regular constraints of reality. With this theme, High Fashion High hopes to provide an imaginative experience which captures the limitless potential of the human mind to youth and those interested in design.
