In the words of the Orcas Project owners “from Aerospace engineers to classically trained winemakers, the winemakers each bring a unique perspective to the project and their wines. This allows us to have super natural wines under the same brand as incredibly classic styles”. Each wine is a thoughtful Northwest collaboration and limited in its production. Each winemaker/artist collaboration has a special image (in most cases an animal) assigned to it and, in this case, it’s one of the coolest animals of all time - the octopus. It’s a structured orange wine with a floral nose and that grippingly tart palate that many of us associate with wine that’s spent time on the skins. In other news, in addition to the original shop/tasting room on Orcas island, they have also just opened up a second location on Phinney Ridge. If you like the project you should pay them a visit!
